Let’s talk RISE! Standing for Regional Initiative for Skilled Employment, RISE brings together schools, colleges, employers, and community partners to build a homegrown talent pipeline in the High Country. Since January, RISE has placed over 150 students in work-based learning opportunities in Caldwell and Watauga County’s. Students receive paid, real-world experience, professional mentors and even monthly stipends to help cover supplies and transportation. The partnership includes Caldwell Community College, Caldwell County Schools, Watauga County Schools, Watauga County Economic Development Commission and UNC Health Appalachian, if a student is interested in healthcare experience.
