BOONE, N.C. — App State football is back in primetime Thursday night as the Mountaineers host undefeated James Madison at sold-out Kidd Brewer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on ESPNU.
App State enters at 4-2 overall and 1-1 in Sun Belt play after rallying from a 10-point halftime deficit to beat Coastal Carolina 35-32 last Friday.
Running back Jaquari Lewis scored four touchdowns in the win, while quarterback Henry Hasselbeck rushed for 125 yards and threw a key fourth-quarter touchdown pass.
Now, the Mountaineers face a major challenge. James Madison is 7-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play. The Dukes lead the Sun Belt in both scoring offense and scoring defense, averaging nearly 43 points per game while allowing just 16.
App State will look to protect home field and hand James Madison its first loss of the season Thursday night in Boone. Kickoff is at 7 on ESPNU.
