Nov 7, 2026 | 1:27 AM

Lady Gaga, Jack White, and Blondie’s Debbie Harry and Chris Stein are among the major names nominated for the 2027 Songwriters Hall of Fame, recognizing their contributions to popular music.

The newly announced list brings together influential songwriters from several generations, highlighting artists whose work has shaped pop, rock, country, R&B, and hip-hop.

Other nominees include Shakira, P!nk, Sia, Boy George, Ne-Yo, Vince Gill, ZZ Top, and Grandmaster Melle Mel. Each has built a distinctive songwriting career through memorable recordings and lasting musical contributions.

The nominations also recognize songwriters who work primarily behind the scenes. Kandi Burruss, Stargate, Dan Wilson, and Pete Bellotte are among those being considered for their contributions to songs performed by other artists.

The selection process divides candidates into performing and non-performing songwriter categories. Three songwriters or songwriting acts will be chosen from each group.

Voting is scheduled to close on December 14, 2026, with the final inductees expected to be announced in early 2027.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame honors the creative work behind songs that have influenced generations of listeners.
